A territory where life is sipped and, at the same time, in full ferment to make the most of its excellent wines: this is how the Colli Piacentini will present itself at Vinitaly 2023. The International Wine and Spirits Exhibition scheduled at the Verona Fairgrounds from April 2 to 5 will, as always, be an important opportunity to give voice to the DOC productions of the Piacenza area in a panorama of international scope.

In the furrow inaugurated last year with the launch of the communication campaign "Colli Piacentini DOC, from us life is sipped," also this year the Consorzio Tutela Vini will present the profound essence of a land where every experience is an expression of a long tradition and the constant work of man in respect of nature. Space then will be given to the tasting of aromatic Malvasia di Candia, Gutturnio, Ortrugoe andmore, wines capable of telling in the glass the thousand nuances of a land where being well is at home and there are also an increasing number of opportunities available for slow tourism under the banner of taste.

"At Vinitaly," says Consortium President Marco Profumo, "we will present inanteprima to operators and journalists the main points of the new production regulations for our wines, which we arrived at thanks to a team effort that lasted two years. We breathe great interest on this front and it is understandable, because it is a turning point that will bring strong benefits to our wines in terms of promotion, allowing us to enhance in Italy and abroad productions that are already excellent today but sometimes struggle to receive the right recognition on the market."

The new production regulations will introduce for the first time in the Piacenza area a complete wine quality pyramid on the model of other major Italian wine districts, facilitating a perception of greater value of the area in the eyes of the consumer. The pyramid will consist of the Piacenza DOCG, the first in Emilia Romagna to also include a red wine, the Colli Piacentini DOC and the Emilia IGT.

Central to the future DOCG will be the aromatic Malvasia di Candia, to which the masterclass "The Myth of Malvasia" will be dedicated on Monday, April 3,at 2 p.m. in the Radice Room of Hall 1, the last stage of a transnational cooperation project involving Gal Parnonas, Gal del Ducato and Gal dell'Istria Centrale. Malvasia from Colli Piacentini will be offered for tasting together with Malvasia from Parma.

For the duration of the event, in an area of about sixty square meters, shared with the Consorzio Tutela Vini DOP Collidi Parma and Gal del Ducato, there will be a Consortium tasting counter in which the wines of members Casa Benna of Castell'Arquato, Marengoni of Ponte dell'Olio, Tenuta Pernice of Borgonovo V.T., Santa Giustina of Pianelo di Val Tidone, Cantina di Vicobarone of Ziano P.no and Cantine 4 Valli of Piacenza will be presented. With their own booth inside the area will be the Campana srl wineries of Carpaneto P.no, Mossi1558 of Ziano P.no and Il Casello of Bacedasco.

Consorzio Tutela Vini DOC Colli Piacentini will be present in Hall 1 - Stand B8.
