DOC Colli Piacentini

A Piacenza DOC that brings together DOC wines made from grapes from vineyards with a specific composition.

The "Colli Piacentini" controlled designation of origin must be followed by a reference to one of the following types of wine: Malvasia, Monterosso Val d'Arda, Trebbianino Val Trebbia, Valnure, Barbera, Bonarda, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Nero, Sauvignon, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Vin Santo.

DOC Colli Piacentini Malvasia

Malvasia is the most widespread DOC Colli Piacentini and is produced from the Malvasia di Candia Aromatica vine, which has its origins in ancient Greece.

Malvasia DOC Colli Piacentini comes from a vine that is only present in the Piacenza area, Malvasia di Candia Aromatica. The colour is straw-yellow with greenish reflections, the aroma is intense and persistent, the flavour is aromatic, harmonious, dry or sweet; quiet, lively or sparkling, this wine can also be sparkling and passito. Served at the ideal temperature of 10°C, it goes well - if dry - with soups, egg dishes and fish soups; if sweet, it is ideal with desserts.

Colour: straw yellow with greenish reflections.
Scent: intense and persistent, aromatic, harmonious.
Taste: dry or sweet.
Alcohol content: 10.5°.

DOC Colli Piacentini Monterosso Val D'Arda

Monterosso Val D'Arda DOC Colli Piacentini has a straw or slightly golden yellow colour, a pleasant aroma and a slightly aromatic, vinous, delicate, subtle, dry or sweet flavour; still or sparkling, it can also be spumante. Served at the ideal temperature of 10°C, it is recommended with hors d'oeuvres, cured meats and risotto; if it is sweet, it is ideal with desserts.

Taste: delicate, subtle, dry or sweet.

DOC Colli Piacentini Trebbianino Val Trebbia

Trebbianino Val Trebbia DOC Colli Piacentini has a straw or light yellow colour, a pleasant aroma, slightly aromatic, vinous, delicate, subtle, dry; it can be slightly lively or sparkling, even spumante. Served at the ideal temperature of 10°C, it is excellent with hors d'oeuvres, cured meats, soups, vegetables and delicately flavoured fish.

Colour: straw or light yellow.
Scent: pleasant, slightly aromatic fragrance.
Taste: delicate, subtle, dry.
Alcohol content: 11°.

DOC Colli Piacentini Val Nure

Valnure DOC Colli Piacentini is straw yellow in colour, with a distinctive, pleasant, aromatic bouquet and a fresh, intense flavour that tends towards sweetish or amabile; it is lively, sparkling or even spumante. Served at the ideal temperature of 10°C, it goes well with cold cuts, fruit and desserts.

DOC Colli Piacentini Vin Santo

Vin Santo DOC Colli Piacentini is straw/golden yellow in colour with an intense, aromatic, characteristic, ethereal aroma. Its flavour is dry or sweet, soft, harmonious, intense, aromatic, tranquil. It is aged for at least 48 months, of which a minimum of 36 months in wooden barrels, starting on 1 November of the year in which the grapes were harvested. Served at the ideal temperature of 13°C, it is excellent as a meditation wine and for desserts.

Colour: straw/golden yellow.
Scent: intense, aromatic, characteristic, ethereal.
Taste: dry or sweet, soft, harmonious, intensely aromatic, quiet.
Alcohol content: 16°.

DOC Colli Piacentini Vin Santo di Vigoleno

Vin Santo di Vigoleno DOC Colli Piacentini has a golden/amber colour of varying intensity, an intense, aromatic, distinctive bouquet, a sweet, harmonious, full-bodied, velvety flavour; it is aged for at least 60 months, of which at least 48 in wooden barrels, starting from 1st November of the year in which the grapes were harvested. Served at the ideal temperature of 13°C, it is recommended as a meditation wine and for desserts.

Colour: golden and amber of varying intensity.
Scent: intense, aromatic, characteristic.
Taste: sweet, harmonious, full-bodied and velvety.
Alcohol content: 18°.

DOC Colli Piacentini Sauvignon

DOC Colli Piacentini Sauvignon has a characteristic straw-yellow colour, even intense, a delicate, fine and dry flavour, reminiscent of wild flowers; it can be still, lively or sparkling.Served at the ideal temperature of 10°C, it is excellent with soups and velvety creams, fish dishes with white sauces.

DOC Colli Piacentini Chardonnay

Chardonnay DOC Colli Piacentini has a straw-yellow colour with greenish nuances, a fine and fruity bouquet, a pleasant and harmonious flavour, dry, fresh, characteristic; lively and sometimes sparkling, it can also be spumante.Served at the ideal temperature of 10°C, it is excellent with hors d'oeuvres, fish dishes, fried seafood, mushrooms and delicate cheeses.

Bouquet: fine, fruity, pleasant and harmonious.
Taste: dry, fresh.

DOC Colli Piacentini Pinot Grigio

Pinot Grigio dei Colli Piacentini has a straw-yellow, pale or pinkish colour, a subtle rose aftertaste, a dry, fresh, fine or sparkling flavour; it can also be sparkling.Served at the ideal temperature of 9°C, it goes well with lean appetizers, fried fish, savoury pies, creams and white sauces.

Taste: subtle aftertaste of roses.

Red DOC wines

DOC Colli Piacentini Barbera

Barbera DOC dei Colli Piacentini has a ruby red colour, a distinctive aroma, slightly vinous and tannic, a flavour that is full-bodied, dry or sweetish; it may be still, lively or sparkling.Served at the ideal temperature of about 16° C, it goes well with dry pasta dishes, first courses with sauces, boiled meats and white meats.

DOC Colli Piacentini Bonarda

Bonarda dei Colli Piacentini is ruby red in colour, vinous, full-bodied, with a distinctive, pleasant almond aroma and a basically sweetish flavour, also dry or sweet, slightly tannic, fresh; it can be lively, sparkling or spumante.Served at the ideal temperature of 18° C, it is a wine that goes well with tasty soups; if sweet, it is particularly suitable with strawberries and desserts.

Colour: ruby red, vinous, full-bodied.
Scent: characteristic and pleasant almond fragrance.
Taste: tends to be sweet, even dry or sweet, slightly tannic.
Alcohol content: 11.5°.

DOC Colli Piacentini Pinot Noir

Pinot Nero DOC dei Colli Piacentini has a more or less intense red, rosé or straw colour, a dry, savoury, pleasant and harmonious taste; it can be still, sparkling and spumante (also vinified white).Served at the ideal temperature of about 16°C, if red it is excellent with starters of offal and enhances the flavours of cheeses; if white, it is excellent as an aperitif and goes well with fish.

Colour: more or less intense red, rosé or straw yellow.
Scent: intense.
Taste: dry, savoury, pleasant and harmonious.
Alcohol content: 11.5°.

DOC Colli Piacentini Cabernet Sauvignon

The Cabernet Sauvignon dei Colli Piacentini has a ruby red colour, sometimes garnet, a distinctive and pleasant aroma, slightly herbaceous, and a dry, dry or sweetish flavour, slightly tannic. It is a wine particularly suitable for ageing.Served at the ideal temperature of 18-19°C, it is excellent with meat dishes and spicy cheeses.

Bouquet: characteristic, pleasant, slightly herbaceous.
Taste: dry and sweet, slightly tannic, quiet.

DOC Colli Piacentini Novello

Novello DOC Colli Piacentini has a ruby red colour, a distinctive, vinous and fruity aroma, a dry and sweetish, acidulous, fragrant and fruity flavour; it is a quiet, sometimes lively wine.Served at the ideal temperature of 13-14°C, it is excellent with first courses and main courses prepared with pork meat.
