Great synergies seal the success of the Ziano leg of the Valtidone Wine Fest 2021

August 18, 2022

Great success for the second stage of the Valtidone Wine Fest 2021 with the theme "Malvasia", which took place on Sunday 12 September in Ziano, in the picturesque setting of the Colli Piacentini, in conjunction with the historic Grape Festival, now in its 69th edition.

The day, inaugurated by Mayor Manuel Ghilardelli and all the institutions present, succeeded in bringing together consortia, associations, producers, Pro Loco and volunteers, who helped to convey commitment and the desire to restart in order to enhance the territory and its resources.

Eighteen wineries offered their wines for tasting, with particular emphasis on Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, which was the star of the day.

"Our aim was to create unity, to share the values that we transmit through the products of our territory," said Davide Valla, President of the Associazione Sette Colli di Ziano . "The Consorzio di Tutela Vini DOC Colli Piacentini and the Associazione La Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori dei Colli Piacentini, represented by their respective Presidents, Marco Profumo and Elisabetta Virtuani, helped us and supported the success of the event, contributing to the enhancement of the wealth of our hills.

At the headquarters of the Enoteca Regionale, the second outpost in the whole of Emilia Romagna dedicated to the culture of wine, which recently opened in the municipal building in Ziano, the Wine Consortium highlighted not only the production of the wineries in the Val Tidone, but also those in the other valleys - Val Nure, Val d'Arda and Val Trebbia - as the spokesman for the entire wine production of the Colli Piacentini.

During the day, the Consortium also offered a wine tasting entirely aimed at journalists and food bloggers, involving four representative producers from the area - Azienda Mossi 1558, Vitivinicola Valla, Azienda Vinicola Fratelli Piacentini and Azienda Vitivinicola Badenchini - who presented some Gutturnio proposals that surprised the expert palates of those present.

The Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori dei Colli Piacentini offered guided tastings in the municipal gardens, while De Smart Kitchen promoted three taste trails to celebrate Malvasia in the kitchen.

Food stands, a creative and hobbyist market, artisans, a photo and oil exhibition by the LaValtidone Association, and a second-hand book market by the local "Carla Carloni" library enlivened the entire Piacenza village, helping to make a special day dedicated to the quality of local produce.
