The final meeting of the international cooperation project"The Myth of Malvasia" was held in Monemvasia (Greece), which from September 2021 to June 2023 promoted Malvasia and the areas where it is produced through the reconstruction of its history from its origin and spread in the Mediterranean area to the present day, in order to make it a real tourist attraction. The partnership of the project involved 3 LAGs in whose territories there is an important production of Malvasia, relevant both economically and historically: the LAG Parnonas (Lead Partner), based in the Region of Arcadia, Greece; the LAG del Ducato, based in Emilia-Romagna, with production areas in the provinces of both Piacenza and Parma; and the LAG of Central Istria, based in Croatia, located along the route that historically brought the wine to Italy from Greece.

The Consorzio Tutela Vini DOC Colli Piacentinitook part in numerous events organized as part of the project in Italy and Europe, introducing Malvasia di Candia Aromatica dei Colli Piacentini to thousands of wine lovers, tasters, ho.re.ca. operators and journalists.

The last stage of the project took place at the first edition of the Monemvasia Malvasia Festival (June 9-11, 2023). Also on this occasion, there was no shortage of in-depth discussions on the grape variety and the different expressions of Malvasia in the world, including a masterclass led by Andreas Matthidis Aiws, Deputy Head of WSPC Education, President of the Greek Union of Winegrowers, and former member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Sommeliers (ASI) in which some bottles from the Piacenza area were also presented.
