Founded in 1960 in Vicobarone di Ziano Piacentino, the Cantina di Vicobarone currently has about 160 wine-growing members who give it the best selection of grapes from the DOC areas of Colli Piacentini and Oltrepò Pavese. Barbera, Bonarda, Malvasia and Ortrugo are the main varieties present on the approximately 700 hectares of vineyards. Cantina has for years undertaken an important project of environmental sustainability, aware of the importance of preserving the precious resources of the territory. As part of the national V.I.V.A. project "Sustainability in wine-growing in Italy", Gutturnio frizzante D.O.C. dei Colli Piacentini, Malvasia frizzante D.O.C. dei Colli Piacentini and Ortrugo frizzante D.O.C. dei Colli Piacentini have obtained sustainability certification from the Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea.
